I am currently recruiting for an AWS Data Engineer on a 6-12 month contract, remote work, with the ideal candidate willing to go into the office in Edinburgh twice a MONTH / once a month.

I am working with a large retail banking client that is in the process of establishing a new team to deliver a strategically important regulatory-driven project to bring data into an existing AWS platform. This is an important data engineering role that will work with key stakeholders to define business requirements, deliver and develop the new cloud-based data and analytics technical solution using Python in an AWS infrastructure environment.

There will be appropriate solution design support to ensure current standards are Embedded in the development activity which this role will be responsible for delivering. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high performing team already working with a range of interesting Cloud technologies.

Required skills:

. Considerable commercial experience as a Python/AWS data engineer

. Experience with PySpark

. Strong software engineering abilities across the full development life cycle

. Experience with AWS cloud services such as EMR, RDS and Redshift

. Familiarity with the job orchestration tool Airflow

. Exceptional stakeholder management skills; confident and credible
