System Support Team Leader

In this role you will be a team leader of the system controls team, making a difference by ensuring quality assurance and high performance, whilst developing good practice and service improvements. You will be overseeing the day-to-day management & performance of the team consisting of a system controls support officer and 8 controls officers. This role will split time between working from home and being office based in Yate.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar systems support role previously. Experience managing and developing small teams is highly beneficial. Previous IT Applications, Software and Systems experience is advantageous.

The role:

*In this role you will lead on relevant end of year processing across 2 departments, service coordinating data releases, testing, and live updating which in turn requires coordinating resources, both internal and with software suppliers to meet both council and statutory timescales.

*You will act as the Team Leader overseeing a team of officers within system development, ensuring the team stays up to date around wider technical developments and options, offering advice and guidance to all projects that impact on these systems.

*Playing an integral role, you will ensure compliance is met with all relevant service level agreements, agreeing, and reporting performance against targets to enable high standards of customer care and operational efficiency.

*You will be facilitating regular supervisory meetings with officers in accordance with HR policies and procedures and support the Assistant Manager in recruitment activities.

*In the role you will work your working base will be split between our Yate office and home working.

The person:

*Previous IT Applications, Software, Systems experience

*Degree qualified from a Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field

*Previous experience is a similar Systems Support position

*Project Management and leadership experience
