Role summary/purpose of jobThis is a role with exposure to some of the most exciting products on the technology roadmap. You will be working as the business analyst responsible for building and iterating a number of products that will enable our lawyers to achieve excellent outcomes for our clients. Day to day work will include gathering both functional and non-functional requirements relating to user experience, business continuity and data retention etc. You will also be accountable for the creation of business activity models, and to-be processes required to support business change. In addition, you will work at a strategic level with architecture teams and senior IT leaders to perform discovery on new product ideas. Key responsibilities, deliverables and experienceDevelop a deep understanding of critical products to become a subject matter expert for themPerform deep analysis of customer requirements providing clear, concise and objective recommendations for enhancements to the product.Analyse the business processes that are impacted by your products; identify pain points and inefficiencies, assesses feasibility of change, and recommend new approaches;Facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders, defining the right approach to achieve desired outcomes.Work with customers and stakeholders to promote understanding of the need for changes in services, products and systems. Developing and using your knowledge of the business to ensure that product teams maintain a business perspective on how new products will be delivered, including planning around key business cycles, selecting appropriate customers for pilot, etc;Grow relationships with key stakeholders across Global Technology & Innovation and the practice groups;Act as a critical liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Deputise for the product owner if required. Key requirementsDesirable Technical SkillsExpert stakeholder management skillsStrong elicitation techniques, targeted to the audience and environment;UML (including use cases, activity diagrams and state diagrams);GAP analysis and modeling;Requirements management and traceability;ExperienceProven experience in a product lead environmentProven experience in product development within international organisations would be an advantage.Has experience in roles demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interview at all levels;Previous experience of performing large scale user research would be an advantageProven expert stakeholder management skills;Knowledge of SCRUM/ and usage of JIRA would be preferred.Additional languages , particularly German, would be an advantage. Team overviewThe Client Facing Applications team support the tools used by our lawyers to engage with our clients. Our focus is to follow the product development lifecycle to create and enhance a mix of internally created applications, COTS products, low code solutions and SAS services.The Business Analysis team enables the firm to articulate needs and the rationale for change, and to design and describe solutions that deliver value.
