Company client has a requirement for a Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to work in Stafford. Initially on a 12-month contract with the possibility of a further 12 months (up to 2 years) Working week is Mon-Fri inclusive, 37 hours per week - excluding meal break (42 inclusive of meal break) Flexible Working of the 37 hours over 5 days may be available subject to agreement between the Agency worker and Line Manager.  £13.42 per hour PAYE  Standard statutory Annual Leave arrangements Full Security Clearance will be required and our Client will action this on appointment. Agency worker may be appointed pending clearance but will be terminated if clearance is not given Post Requirements: The SHEQ Advisor will advise, monitor and provide practical support to the business on Safety, Health, Environmental Protection and Quality aspects, manage and maintain the associated Management System(s) and applicable certificates to ensure compliance with the relevant standards and regulatory bodies. This is assured through Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality audit activities as planned by the audit programme to check the effectiveness of processes and achievement of objectives and the production of written reports containing suggestions for improvement and recording any observations and findings.  They will also ensure the review and update of various Health and Safety assessments. The post holder will also be responsible for the investigation of local incidents/accidents, dangerous occurrences (involving local Management and Trades Unions H&S Representatives) and quality concerns.  They will also collate accident statistics, report on trends and advise on suitable measures to prevent or reduce the likelihood of further occurrences. They will be responsible for compiling a quarterly SHEQ meeting presentations and Chair the local Stafford SHEQ Meetings, providing an update to local management on the performance of the compliance management systems. The post holder will develop personal competence in Health and Safety, Environment and Quality aspects of compliance, as necessary.  Responsibilities of the Role Responsible for the site’s mandatory compliance with statutory legislation and requirements for Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Fire.  Responsible for the review and maintenance of the site’s Integrated Management Systems commensurate with the ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Responsible for the review and upkeep of the various Business Management Systems to maintain the current site-specific ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. Responsible for maintaining suitable Internal Audit, Customer Feedback, Equipment Failure reporting and quality investigation systems.  Also responsible for the application of effective Quality Control systems and the management of Production Concessions / Permits. Responsible for the verification and issue of Local Process control systems and to assist / advise in the development of further systems. In liaison with Line Management, responsible for the Investigation of local incidents/accidents and dangerous occurrences.  Collate accident statistics, report on trends and advise on suitable measures to prevent or reduce the likelihood of further occurrences. Providing advice / guidance for local management on Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Fire issues. Advise line management on the provision of appropriate Quality and HS&E training and promote a culture of Continuous Improvement and Lean Processing Principles. Focal point for Quality Occurrence Reports (QOR), Defect Reports (F760), Discrepancy and Unsatisfactory Feature (F765) Reports registration, distribution and progression, together with associated management reports on trend analysis.  Focal point and management representative for all external HS&E government departments, enforcement agencies and local authorities. Responsible for local Occupational Health issues (Site Specific) Responsible for the management, distribution and amendment of all on site HS&E regulations. Focal point for Incident Reporting at Stafford site Incident Investigations with local Management & TU H&S Reps comprising the Stafford Health & Safety Committee Maintain Incident Register on Sharepoint Co-ordinate Stafford Health & Safety Committee Compile Quarterly SHEQ meeting presentation and Chair Stafford SHEQ Meetings Advise line management on effective content of Health & Safety Assessments Carry out technical investigations in response to Quality Occurrence Reports (QOR) and Fault Reports (760) received. Document findings and brief to line management. Carry out internal Technical Audits of gas cylinders and pressure vessels inspection and test processes to ISO 17020 Co-ordinate and Monitor Monthly Compliance Self-Monitoring; review and follow up specific issues raised for all Stafford work areas  Register and manage non-conformance reporting on Baan The post holder has authority to prohibit any operation in breach of Health & Safety, Quality or Environment policy. 
Essential (either already achieved, or working towards): Mechanical or Electrical engineering training and experience with academic qualifications appropriate to the grade; indentured apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent.  NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate (or a willingness to work towards and achieve this qualification within a reasonable timeframe). ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (or proven audit experience) or a willingness to work towards and achieve this qualification within a reasonable timeframe. Experience and knowledge of engineering environment and the associated health and safety and environmental risks. Possess good interpersonal and excellent communication skills. Desirable: ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor. Risk or COSHH Assessor. Knowledge of gas cylinder testing and inspection environment and familiarity with the requirements of EN ISO/IEC 17020.
