The Digital Foundations Programmes team is an integral part of the Digital Enterprise and Operations (DE&O) portfolio, which is part of the Innovation & Engineering (I&E) business entity.The DFP Digital Product Manager works closely with one of the Principle Portfolio Managers within DFP and is responsible for strategy, development, and support for new and existing products.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and own a new or existing product. Own delivery & support, customer experience, value generation Lead the activity of the DevOps squad to ensure everyone is engaged and operating to their maximum efficiency. Works with Product Owners on planning and maintaining an up to date delivery roadmap with a clear focus on business value Manages ongoing prioritisation of product backlogs within the assigned portfolio Ensuring DevOps teams are working efficiently, removes blockers and ensure tooling and training is available to the team Supports teams in using relevant agile frameworks, such as Scrum and Kanban Brings together different disciplines from UX, Product, Technical Specialist / SME Engineering to support alignment across the organisation. Manages resourcing and sub-portfolio budget forecast A Customer centric mindset - guide our thinking and behaviour in delivering better experiences for our customers Value generation: accountable for delivering value from the budget allocated in line with agreed priorities with the business working closely with the business Product Owner Relationship management with a wide range of senior business stakeholders Ensure common performance management tools are used in partnership with DFP colleagues. ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Formal qualifications constituting university degrees, examination certificates that confirm a level of educational attainment or licenses or equivalent Membership of a technical or professional body that has confirmed an individual has reached a level of capability within a technical or professional field (usually but not necessarily obtained through examinations) or Formal certification that they can undertake specialist work or processes e.g. PMI, ITIL Scrum Product Owner certified or equivalent ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS: A good overall knowledge of project delivery, be delivery orientated A good working knowledge of Agile practices, ability to demonstrate agile ways of working (agile ceremonies, backlog prioritization) Understand and appreciate the importance of discovery and user experience design process A solid understanding of Financial controls, with experience of budget authority Communication - able to relate to and communicate with both business and technology/digital colleagues Stakeholder management - able to understand and respond to the drivers and concerns of a wide range of both business and technical stakeholders Identifies where a coaching or mentoring approach is required and apply these techniques to guide teams and individuals to adopting an agile mindset. DESIRABLE CRITERIA Extensive work experience with relevant work experience within the programme/project management profession PMP-certified, and/or have relevant experience working in agile and waterfall projects and/or programmes, familiar with delivery assurance processes for small, medium, and large projects/programmes Specific knowledge of working with Agile project management for the following areas: business risk management, relationship management, contract management, financial management, benefits management, and sourcing Good knowledge and understanding of development methodologies (Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban) Familiar with DevOps practices and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, Lean, flow, eliminating waste
