About The Role

At Morrisons we are continually driving transformational change in our business through the innovative use of technology. Our exciting programmes of work are producing modern cloud-first solutions, using agile practices to deliver at pace. At the heart of our solutions are cloud based microservices which have helped us grow and scale at speed. There is a lot going on, it's intellectually stimulating and it's delivering real change for our customers.

We're looking for a motivated self-starter Solution Architect with the passion to play a big part in our Architecture community, that together will drive technology change, be innovative, and ensure the company realises it's vision of being "naturally digital".

As a Solution Architect at Morrisons, you'll be responsible for:

Architecting and supporting the delivery of a wide range of solutions, from small to large scale projects, and fast paced Proof of Concepts.

Delivering solutions that are fit for purpose for the business need, flexible for future change, appropriately secure and operationally accepted.

Ensuring solutions are strategically aligned and approved through the agreed technology governance processes.

Stakeholder management, internally across technology and business teams as well as externally with multiple suppliers.

Contributing to the wider Architecture community to share knowledge, collaborate on cross-domain initiatives, and ensure the delivery of a joined up, enterprise-wide strategy.

About You

As a Solution Architect at Morrisons, you'll need the following skills and experience:

Track record of successfully architecting and delivering technology solutions for a range of business problems of varying scale and complexity.

Have a broad technical experience with the ability to assure the use of technology for the implementation of your solutions, supporting development teams to ensure the architectural vision is realised.

Leading and collaborating with technology vendors, including the delivery of RFIs and RFPs to ensure functional and non-functional best fit.

Understand the importance of security and the impacts on architectural design.

Data modelling and the importance of data integrity, quality and management.

Can think strategically whilst able to adapt and react quickly to changing and urgent business needs.

Good communication skills.

Great influencing and stakeholder management skills across all levels.

Previous experience working within Retail, Logistics or Manufacturing sectors would be highly desirable but not essential.

About The Company

We pride ourselves on being a diverse and inclusive business and are committed to making Morrisons a brilliant place to work, harbouring an environment where our people can thrive.

Treating all colleagues with respect and dignity is the Morrisons way - we celebrate individuality and love different perspectives. It's what you bring to the table that matters.

Ways of working

The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at Hilmore House in Bradford.

You'll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you're covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.

We've also recognised the benefits of working across six days including Saturdays. To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in Hilmore House now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.

Your non-working day will need to fit in with the business needs so more information about this and which day you'd take off will be discussed at your interview.
