As IT Support Technician you will be responsible for providing 1st line telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face support to the user base. You also will be responsible for the day to day running of existing IT infrastructure alongside the development and implementation of new systems.Client DetailsMichael Page are delighted to be partnered with an education & training provider organisation in Sheffield to help support with the recruitment of a IT Support Technician.DescriptionWhat you'll be doing?As IT Support Technician you will be responsible for providing 1st line telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face support to the user base. You also will be responsible for the day to day running of existing IT infrastructure alongside the development and implementation of new systems.Key Responsibilities:Assist with the configuration, installation and testing of required softwareAssist with making software and data available to appropriate usersEnsure that anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all stationsTroubleshoot, update, improve and expand MIS systemsAssist with ensuring all computer hardware and peripherals are installed, configured appropriatelyMaintain and troubleshoot systems as appropriateSetup and issue new equipment to users of all levelsTroubleshoot and maintain all aspects of PC hardware and softwareLiaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance contractManage and maintain varying telephone systems and support introduction of VOIP systemsMaintain, record and update all aspects of the IT infrastructureAssist staff members with the use of IT software and hardwareProfileKey Skills & Experience:Networking or computing qualificationFundamental support knowledge of hardware peripherals and local printersGood knowledge of Windows Operating Systems Exposure to and knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy ManagementExposure to and knowledge of SCCMExperience of maintaining and updating relevant documents / recordsExperience of working within an educational establishmentExperience managing a Microsoft Office 365 of Exchange environmentExperience of troubleshooting in a modern IT environmentExperience of working with web-content filtering productsExperience of implementing IT policiesUnderstanding of basic networking conceptsJob OfferSalary:£20,000 - £24,000 per annumAdditional benefits:Excellent pension contributionExpensed travel
