Clarity has a turnover in excess of £500m per annum, and is a global, multi award winning, UK top 10 Travel Management Company. Due to an exciting year of growth we are now looking for a Senior IT Engineer to join our IT team, this role will be a hybrid role split between homeworking and our Manchester office. Reporting to our IT Infrastructure Manager, the Senior IT Engineer role is expected to take a high degree of responsibility in ensuring the reliable running and business need fulfilment of the IT systems throughout Clarity Travel through both proactive and reactive action. We take the wellbeing of our colleagues seriously, and during the Covid-19 pandemic, Clarity continues to ensure that our clients and colleagues remain safe. With this in mind our staff continue homeworking until it is advised otherwise, where we have opened offices, we have ensured that social distancing and one-way systems are in place. This is a varied role, as part of which you will be involved in the following; Key Infrastructure Management

Ensure our servers and cloud based services are reliable and secure taking proactive action where necessary. As examples this will include (but is not limited to) : Ensuring backups are up to date and verified O/S and applications are patched Vulnerability scans are run and resulting actions taken as necessary Capacity Management is undertaken Penetration tests are checked and actions taken as necessary without undue delay Infrastructure documentation is kept up to date Regular reviews are held with the IT Compliance Manager and IT Infrastructure Manager This role is expected to be a subject matter expert on all the services we offer whether hosted in-house or cloud based. Deskside support As part of the IT Business Support team assist with or resolve any incidents, problems or requests. Examples include (but are not limited to) : Server failure Backup failures Firewall / networking issues AD management Microsoft 365 management AV management and updates Application patching and updates Asset management Network problem solving Printer problem solving iPhone set-up and problem solving IP telephony set-up and problem solving Assist IT Engineers with knowledge where required Security As an ISO27001, BS10012, ISO22301 and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited business you must always carry out your role according to company IT policies working closely with the IT Compliance Manager. Some examples of actions this would include : Confidentiality Ensure appropriate file permissions are set Verify AD set-up is as per company policy Verify Microsoft 365 set-up is as per company policy Verify AV set-up is as per company policy including memory stick blocking etc. Assist with user education Integrity Monitor server logs Monitor Protective Monitoring and work with our Protective Monitoring provider to continuously improve our security Availability Check and be ready for disaster recovery or business continuity plans to be brought into action Carry out critical checks that enable proactive action to prevent any significant failure Small Projects Undertake small projects as required. Examples of this might be (but not limited to) a branch move, network link upgrade, desk move, upgrading of printers, rollout of Mobile Device Management etc. In return we offer a competitive salary with the opportunity to grow and develop you career plus, So if you are looking for your next challenge, please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!  Requirements To be successful our ideal applicant will; Be able to learn quickly in order to become a Subject Matter Expert on all the IT services we offer Have a diligent personality who prepares in advance for something to go wrong and has a plan to resolve Have a demonstrable enthusiasm for IT Have a collaborative working style Have the ability to provide friendly internal customer service even when under pressure Have determination to get things done within SLA Have the ability to problem solve / gather required knowledge with minimal supervision Have Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking Have Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender Endpoint Have basic knowledge of SQL Server, Remote Desktop Services, IIS Server Have an understanding of patch management, vulnerability scanning etc. Have current or recent experience working in a similar role Have a proven record in a fast paced commercial environment Have an understanding of IT risks and importance of suitable mitigations
