The SES Water IT Team are currently progressing an initiative to improve the quality of service being delivered to our customers, therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join and to help shape the future of our security and network landscape.

The role:

 - Salary of £40,000 per annum

- Up to 10% employer contribution towards Aviva's Group Personal Pension Plan

- Free on-site parking or in local area

- Working hours: 8:30am -5pm with flexible start times and working hours, there is the option to work from home two days a week

As a Security / Network Engineer, you'll be a vital element in our IT security and network practice.

Reporting to the Cyber Security Lead, you will make sure that all systems are secure and offer peak performance to support business requirements. 

Additionally, you will:

- Maximise network performance by proactively monitoring performance and troubleshooting network problems and outages

- Undertake network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources

- Lead response activities to minimise the impact of cyber incidents including technical investigation into the root cause and extent of any damage

- Provide 3rd line network support, responsible for managing security and network related tickets in the ITSM toolset

- Support and administer Checkpoint firewall environments

- Ensure network equipment is kept updated with latest software releases

- Take a lead role in infrastructure projects

- Manage business continuity plans, ensuring annual testing and maintenance

- Communicate at a senior level with key stakeholders

- Influence development and maintenance of security strategies and policies

This is a fast-paced, varied and engaging role that is going to see you roll up your sleeves and get involved in a huge array of projects and day-to-day activities.

About You

At SES Water, we recruit experienced individuals whilst also considering their potential values and fit within the wider team. We're seeking a Security / Network Engineer with:

- Good coaching and mentoring skills

- Good communication skills with the ability to give clear instructions

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task

- At least three years' experience in a network role

- Hands-on experience of managing firewalls in a BAU and project environment

- A qualification in at least one of the following: Checkpoint Security Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP

- A driving licence

A recognised industry-leading security-relevant certification, such as a CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO:27001 or Security+, would be beneficial to your application.
