As Group IT Manager you will be responsible for providing management, leadership and encouragement to the IT team as well as ensuring that the IT infrastructure of the group is fit for purpose, secure, resilient and backed up with high availability and failover.Client DetailsMichael Page are delighted to be partnered with a global disctribution business to lead on the recruitment of a new Group IT Manager to support the business through continued growth. DescriptionWhat you'll be doing:Ensure that the IT infrastructure of the group is fit for purpose, secure, resilient and backed up with high availability and failover.Ensure that applicable legal requirements are met in respect to copyright, computer misuse and data protection.Provide management, leadership and encouragement to the IT team and ensure that cross-training is taking place to match the demands of the business.Provide advice/guidance to the management teams when developing/implementing projects/solutions/processes to help them maximise use of the IT investment and increase efficiency.Responsibilities:Manage the IT department.Ensure that routine server hardware checks are taking place and review the results.Ensure that backup runs are being monitored.Monitor other key systems and identify problematic areas and implement solutions in a timely manner.Ensure that end-user support is provided in a timely, professional manner.Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.Recruit, train and coach employees and communicate job expectations.Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures to support the IT function and the business as a whole.Provide advanced analytics to support managers across the group.Respond to user needs and ensure that resolutions are provided.Preserve assets, information security and control structures.ProfileKey Skills & Experience:Good communication skills.Previous experience in a similar IT leadership type role ideally within manufacturing, distribution, logistics or FMCG.Strong management skills to deliver a first-class IT service to the company.Proven experience of managing IT, delivering projects together with service and supplier management.Enthusiasm to champion the use of IT throughout the company.Technical experience/technical background across IT Infrastructure would be advantageous.Ability to think and act strategically to deliver practical, innovative and creative solutions to the management of business issues.Advanced understanding of hardware, networks, operating systems and experience with computer programming.Ability to methodically dissect, analyse and pinpoint problems and develop effective, robust solutions.Attention to fine detail.Continuously seeking improvement.Any of the following skills would also be considered an advantage:SQL (T-SQL, MySQL)Scripting languages, Powershell, Java, PHP, Perl, VBA.VB.Net, C#, C++ADLinux command line (no GUI)Cisco CLIExperience within the Distribution, Logistics or Manufacturing sectors would be considered advantageous.
