Excellent opportunity for a Director of Systems Engineering with a background in healthcare or molecular engineering to join a rapidly expanding business offering variety and challenge, the agility of a start up with the stability and finances of a multi-national, and the chance to work on life-saving technology.

This company are growing at a rapid rate, and as a result need to hire a Director of Systems Engineering to direct the maintenance and give direction to the entire technical aspect of their platform, with a specific focus on firmware, software and the Molecular Science that allows the product to work.

In this role you will lead the Systems Engineering side of the business. You will liaise often with other Directors in the UK and America who oversee other aspects of the product, and the R+D departments. You will often lead research into new technology, new scientific developments, and hardware/software interaction. The product you will predominantly work on is designed to test and diagnose infectious diseases in people unable to access physical testing sites - ultimately saving lives.

The ideal candidate will be Degree-level educated, ideally within Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline. Candidates will need experience of working with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 standards, and have proven commercial experience within Medical Devices, Healthcare or Molecular Engineering. Candidates are expected to work in the office 2-3 days a week.

The Role:

*Leading Systems Engineering strategy

*liaising with other Directors in other areas of the business

*Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D processes

*Drive the strategy for Hardware, Firmware and Software Product change and development

*Office based 2-3 days a week

The Person:

*Degree-level educated

*Commercial experience within Medical Devices/Healthcare/Molecular Engineering

*Familiar and experienced with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 standards

*Familiar with experimental design

*Good knowledge of electronic, mechanical and software design
