They provide mission critical, managed network solutions to clients in the Payments and Financial Service Markets that allow them to transact across highly secure, reliable, and high-speed solutions globally. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Network Technician to develop and excel technically across a multitude of technology platforms. It is both external customer and internal customer facing. This role is available in either their Dublin or Sheffield office.

The main technology platforms in use are Linux Cisco/Juniper Fortinet Virtual Access/Digi/Sarian

Responsibilities

- Configure, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot network & customer devices and circuits

- Work with telecommunication companies to turn up circuits. e.g. leased line DS0, DS1, DS1 hubs, DS3, DS3 hubs, OC3+, Ethernet, Frame Relay, DSL, ISDN, VPN, MPLS

- Work with customers to install routers and auxiliary equipment (including cabling and demarcation extensions)

- Work with Field Technicians on equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting

- Identify issues and potential faults & performs troubleshooting (1st and 2nd line) and escalates where appropriate to ensure timely delivery & restoration

- Work closely with internal groups such as Sales Support, Logistics, and the NOC to assist in solving problems, and communicates back to the various groups and/or customer as appropriate

- Proactively identifies problem resolutions and process efficiencies to create a higher quality of service for customers

- Demonstrates individual leadership/ownership/accountability

- Assists with training of others within and outside the direct ICC team

- Work as part of a global team and supports out of hours work as required

- Demonstrates high sense accountability for all your actions while working on a live mission critical shared network - In particular excellent change management practices

- Creates documentation for new processes and procedures

Experience/Qualifications

- Ability to work under limited supervision and effectively demonstrate the ability to use independent judgment

- Experience in working on several reasonably complex assignments

- Experience in the installation and configuration of one or more of these router types - Cisco, Juniper, Digi, Virtual Access, Fortinet

- Understand IP Network to CCNA/JNCIA Level - Certifications desired

- Working experience Networking and application support on Linux

- Initiative to resolve problems on mission critical IP networks proactively and reactively

- ITIL experience/certifications in Service Delivery, Incident & Problem Management beneficial

- 2-3 years' experience in a similar role required

- A point-of-sale (POS), ATM, banking or finance industry background preferred

- A Bachelor degree or Higher National Diploma, HND (UK) preferred

- CCNA, JNCIA, Linux Admin, ITIL Foundations/Service Delivery

- Experience with Remedy and Salesforce beneficial
