DescriptionThe Firmware Engineer will play a key role within the multi-disciplinary Design Team. The Design Team specialize in mechanical and electronic hardware, acoustics, application software and embedded software (CPU and FPGA). The Firmware Engineer will be responsible for Firmware Design to form part of a multichannel analogue and digital signal sampling system required to operate in new time.Within the role you'll be responsible for all stages of VHDL for FPGA design, including simulation, test benches, synthesis, timing closure and ChipScope.ProfileDemonstrable experience of working in a Firmware or similar position is essential.We work with Xilinx devices (including Spartan, Virtex and Zynq families using ISE and Vivado Tools), so direct experience of using these devices would be beneficial although not essential.Proficiency with standard communications protocols (UARTS, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP, UDP etc) is required.Ability to work with software and hardware interfaces, using appropriate diagnostic tools and test and measurement equipment to resolve issues.Job OfferThe opportunity to work with a forward thinking and dynamic organisation who has employee culture at the heart of what they do.
