Our clients scientists and engineers undertake world-leading, ambitious projects to transform the world through deep research. Their lab has contributed to many of their most successful products, services, and partnerships.

Their team is making tremendous progress and we continue to grow from strength to strength. They are looking for an enthusiastic Research Project Administrator to support our team of scientists and engineers by undertaking ownership of operational tasks, such as purchasing equipment, inventory tracking, organising reviews and demos, that would otherwise distract team members from the technical challenges at hand.

* Enthusiastically aim to keep the team operating smoothly and productively by diverting incoming distractions and minimising procedural overheads

* Track expenditure against project budget in Excel, including the production and coordination of reporting as required.

* Execute the established business processes for ordering and purchasing of equipment for the team, including delivery tracking, service contracts and warranty agreements;

* Coordination and collation of progress reports from sub-teams in preparation for quarterly project reviews

* Act as interface for managing relations with specialist hardware suppliers, including setting up pre-sales discussions, purchasing procedures, licensing, warranty renewal and incident tracking;

* Maintaining an inventory, and documented history of failure/repair events, for around 30 major items of critical equipment;

* Tracking and documenting progress towards project deadlines;

* Managing the utilization and availability of office space for team members, and optical lab space for equipment deployed in up to five lab rooms;

* Follow documented procedures to ensure the compliance of business processes, such as secure data handling, non-disclosure agreements and laser safety procedures in lab rooms.

Qualifications and Skills

* At least 3 years' experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified individuals

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* Proficient in basic use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook scheduling and Powerpoint

* Understanding of fundamental business processes and challenges

* Personal integrity, initiative, curiosity, and exceptional judgement. To apply please send your CV's in the first instance
