We are looking for a Data Developer, with proven experience of designing, building and managing complex data models for enterprise grade databases. This role provides a rare opportunity to support and grow an entirely new data capability within Jaguar Land Rovers Remote Connected Vehicle Diagnostics team. You will form an essential part of a collaborative, iterative and agile process within a team of designers, software, DevOps and quality engineers helping deliver best in class digital solutions to the business and its customers. You will design and deliver solutions using on a variety of SQL and NoSQL data technologies, creating robust, scalable data models and databases to support wider software development within the centre. You will be working closely with other multi-disciplined engineers, you will be a valued member of the Jaguar Land Rover team, consistently delivering to challenging business objectives, with a focus on testability, robustness, and performance for exciting new projects. You will work on real projects alongside experienced engineers and will be expected to take on some mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers in the team. WHAT YOU WILL NEED Strong experience of streaming technologies Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache Beam, Apache Spark Experience of working with Big Data sets and technologies Experience in object orientated programming ideally in Java Strong experience in database technologies SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j) database technologies Strong understanding of relational data modelling and key database concepts such as indexing, transactions and stored procedures Experience with cloud data environments such as Google Big Query Google, CloudSQL, Amazon RDS Collaborative skills - being open to pair programming and working closely with Developers, Designers and QA's in cross functional teams Willingness and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives Excellent written and verbal communication skills
