The teams here at the Digital Delivery Centre (DDC) are on a journey to transform the digital future of Jaguar Land Rover; designing and building innovative systems and products for one of the world's leading luxury automotive brands in new and exciting ways.

We're looking for Senior Software Engineers with a passion for innovative problem solving, quality-first coding and continual improvement who want to become true technical leaders. You'll be working closely with other multi-disciplined engineers with opportunities to learn and enhance your career, as well as inspiring and influencing the wider organisation as we transform how Jaguar Land Rover builds and operates digital vehicles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Own and support full-lifecycle software from development to testing to production and beyond working closely with other engineers and disciplines within the DDC

Design and build software in line with our modern software engineering and DevOps practices including TDD, pair programming and CI/CD

Ensure software meets DDC levels of quality, automating at every opportunity

Participate in workshops to help identify, design and refine user requirements

Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and standards to enhance the DDC and improve Jaguar Land Rover

Work with technical and non-technical business stakeholders to understand and implement software features

Look for opportunities to improve yourself and the wider team through continual learning and self-development, communities of practice and brown bag sessionsIdentify, plan and request departmental resource requirements in support of cycle plan and programmes

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We're looking for both backend and frontend engineers, and if you're comfortable working across the full stack then even better. So we're certainly keen to talk to people with:

5+ years experience with Java (and Spring Boot), Golang or other server-side languages and frameworks

OR 5+ years experience with client-side JavaScript and common libraries such as React

Real world experience of practices such as Test Driven Development (TDD) and Pair Programming

Knowledge and experience of event-driven microservice architectures, RESTful APIs and message queues

Comfortable with source code management and version control tools (Git/GitLab/GitHub)

Built bespoke enterprise grade cloud-native applications

Worked with relational database technologies such as MySQL or similar

Quality focussed with experience writing automated unit, integration and acceptance tests

Built and managed automated CI/CD pipelines for building, testing and deploying your code
