Our research, analysis and statistics are informing the national response to and recovery from the current health emergency. Our work is in demand and so are you. We have a wide range of opportunities to work on analysis contributing to decision-making at the heart of government.

These roles will require you to apply your analytical skills to undertake research, innovate and solve problems in data management and analysis. You will provide expertise to research, methods development, and data transformation projects, using a range of software packages and analytical techniques. These roles may involve line management or matrix management of discrete teams and may sit within specific research teams or may be embedded within the business.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, as these roles require engagement with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and collate evidence to deliver the research or method under investigation. The role will require the production of high-quality technical papers or articles for stakeholders or customers.

Responsibilities

Leading and conducting research and development projects to deliver high quality quantitative or qualitative advice and analysis to inform decision-making

Working proactively with customers to identify their requirements, share knowledge and information.

Utilising a range of software packages and analytical techniques to analyse data or information.

Using innovative techniques to acquire new data sources.

Collaborating with a range of stakeholders (internal and external) to research, develop and implement improvements, providing technical and analytical expertise.

Participating in and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria:

Proven analytical experience, including the practical application of a range of analytical tools and research methods to produce high quality quantitative or qualitative analysis.

Experience of working with data sources to identify information gaps and weaknesses and anticipate analytical issues

Ability to apply specialist knowledge to arrive at evidenced conclusions, options and recommendations and to critique analysis of others in a constructive way

Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences through various mediums.

Proven ability to manage research workstreams to tight deadlines

Experience of working with range of stakeholders, building positive collaborative working relationships.
