Closing date: 3 June 2021 at 11.30 pm Have you worked in a financial systems support function in a diverse and complex organisation with a large internal customer base where you gained 1st line support experience on Unit4 ERP with Financials, Fixed Assets, and Logistics modules? Then join Shelter as a Finance Systems Analyst and you could soon be playing a vital role at the heart of our Finance Systems team.  About Shelter
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve. At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.  About the team Here in the Finance Department, we work as a team of experts to safeguard resources and support decision making across Shelter and strive to ensure the organisation is financially sustainable in order to achieve our vision of a home for everyone. This particular role sits within the Finance Systems team that supports and improves Shelter's financial information systems, helping to make sure that our financial processes are efficient, easy to use and well controlled. It's a particularly exciting and busy time to join us as we'll be 6 months into the implementation of Unit4 FP&A, thus allowing you to extend your existing system admin skillset with Unit4 ERP into new but related realms.  About the role This wide ranging role calls for someone who can immediately deliver system advice and troubleshooting, particularly to Finance team colleagues, with Unit4 ERP queries ranging from GL07 import errors to process definition amendments for write off transactions. You'll also likely be involved in amending a new user process so that it picks up both the resource ID and a post number from our separate HR system so that we can plan expenditure against both the person and the post. There will also be opportunities to develop our procurement and customer workspaces, dynamic form setups and API functionality. And, because we have some ambitious projects lined up in the next year to change our coding structure, budgeting processes and cost allocations model, you'll be able to contribute heavily towards those too.  About you You'll need proven experience of financial control and reporting, and of good practice in related processes. A finance qualification, or part qualification, in AAT, CIMA or ACCA would be useful, but is not essential. You must, however, be able to move efficiently between providing 2nd line support for more technical ERP queries and developing improvements to ERP and FP&A functionality and processes while contributing to a supportive and collaborative finance team culture. A great chance to use your experience working with financial systems to suggest and deliver improvements to processes and create efficiencies, proficiency in SQL or ability to learn and apply new technical skills and languages, e.g. JSON, would be a plus. What's for certain is that you have excellent time management and prioritising skills, strong attention to detail, a high level of numeracy and intermediate Excel skills.  Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme. Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.  To find out more about the role and the benefits of working for Shelter please visit our website. Apply to be part of our team and be the change you want to see in society. Safeguarding is everyone's business. Shelter is committed to protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of those we support, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. All our staff will be expected to observe professional standards of behaviour and conduct their work in line with our Safeguarding Policies. We are happy to talk about flexible working, personal growth, and to promote a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based only on your merit.  Shelter does not accept unsolicited CVs from external recruitment agencies nor accept the fees associated with them.
