My client is looking for a Comms Lead for an initial 12- 18 month engagement.

This work has been deemed inside of IR35.

The Making Finance Brilliant programme is a key enabler in the transformation of our finance operating model as part of the One BT strategy. Our Finance ambition is to create, enhance & protect financial value for BT's shareholders by driving value, productivity & trust. This role leads all communications efforts for the second phase of the programme working with the individual change and comms people in the programme and also the wider business, supporting business readiness, business adoption and benefits realisation across all units in BT as part of this radical transformation programme. The complex and multifaceted nature of this operating modal change with many stakeholders requires intuitive and embedded change management and stakeholder management with quantified, trackable business adoption intervention plans.

The successful candidate will:

*Lead and develop the comms efforts for Phase 2 and other areas of the programme as required.

*Create and own the Core UK comms plan working with delivery and Business Readiness Leads to ensure people and our key external Stakeholders are informed of the right things at the right time.

*Partner with other change and comms people on the programme to give consistent and clear messaging.

*Ensure alignment of all change management communications to strategic plan and corporate messages. Agree key messages with executive stakeholders as appropriate and ensure these are built into communications planning with consistency and strategic context across programmes and projects.

*Engage with Training and Internal Communications to ensure alignment of change management solutions to corporate standards and group messages.

*Responsible for building and maintaining strong senior manager level relationships both internally within the programme with delivery and business adoption leads and externally as applicable. Building on existing networks and develop relevant contacts throughout the organisation.

Skills Required:

You need to have strong reporting, delivery, communication, and organisational skills:

*Significant, diverse experience in communications on business transformation teams.

*Able to employ a range of methodologies and toolkits as appropriate, Comms Manager with 5+ years of experience working within a Change Management function of a large organisation, supporting business critical projects.

*Stakeholder focussed: Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills with strong change management skills, particularly in understanding stakeholder engagement principles and practices.

*Matrix working: Comfortable working on a large programme where activities are managed according to a matrix structure. Able to work collaboratively and manage the time of their team to meet project deliverables. Able to challenge others and deal with resistance to change to meet defined Programme objectives. Open, transparent, confident, collaborative & proactive and can work with ambiguity and challenge.

*Leading our people: proven people management skills with the ability to motivate, develop and manage in a complex environment.

Experienced in building expertise and capability within a programme. Lead both people and project work and interact with varying levels of management.

Experience you would be expected to have

MANDATORY:

*Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and interpersonal skills. Comfortable dealing with challenge and conflict using influencing and empathy skills to resolve conflicts.

*Experience of working in a Finance organisation, with knowledge/understanding of the Tower process activities and associated interdependencies.

*Experience in converting complex finance systems / processes into easily digestible collateral for decision making and engagement purposes.

*Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
