JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Technical Manager who has excellent ‘hands on' IT Infrastructure / Network, Service Desk and Desktop Support experience with in-depth knowledge gained supporting a Microsoft Windows environment including Office / Microsoft 365, MS Teams and associated applications.

The IT Department is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and planned replacement of all IT equipment and systems purchased by the school. The department has an important role in advising staff and implementing some areas of training.

The department comprises the Head of IT and two IT Technical Managers. Although the three work very much as a team, responsibilities inevitably overlap and blur, there are areas of responsibility and expertise specific to each role.

The IT department operate as a close-knit team and therefore while it is possible to identify responsibilities specific to the IT Technical Manager it is expected that you will have a good working knowledge of all IT systems within the school.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the IT Technical Manager you will have the following skills, experience and knowledge:

Experience of working in a Microsoft Windows environment - the school has nearly one thousand users on the system using a range of equipment. They are developing plans to support delivering 1:1 devices to students in 2022.

Experience of Office / Microsoft 365 which is used throughout the school by students and staff

Experience of MS Teams - used for teaching, setting assignments and document storage

Experience of networks - the school's system covers the whole site and a satellite site consisting of Ethernet cables, fibre and Wi-Fi

Experience working within a school and supporting their IT Infrastructure would be highly desirable, although not essential
