Job Title: Building Services Engineer (Mechanical / Plumber)Location: Kingston Upon Thames, SurreySalary: £34,000 per annumJob type: Permanent, 37 hours per weekKUSCO (Kingston University Service Company Ltd) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Kingston University, established in December 1997. It is a non-profit making organisation providing facility management services to Kingston University.Key Duties:Efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities associated with the safe operation of the plantManaging sub-contractors working for the organisation ensuring their Health and Safety as well as their performanceWill be required to respond to plant and equipment breakdowns as part of an On-Call Rota/ Out of Hours TeamCarry out other duties identified from time to time to ensure the plant is operating safely and efficiently and within environmental complianceImplement maintenance activities, during planned and unplanned shutdowns to ensure optimal long- term availability of the plant and to preserve the value of the facilityManage maintenance statutory inspections ensuring all documentation is completed and up to dateEnsure good housekeeping and maintenance standards within all defined areasEnsure that all Mechanical and Electrical Engineering activities associated with the plant are carried out in a safe manner in line with policies and procedures, and relevant health, safety and environmental statutory requirements are metCarry out risk assessments to ensure activities are carried out in a safe manner, including site staff and contractors to ensure their safetyBe flexible in your approach covering training requirements and holiday cover sometimes at short noticeAbout You:Mechanically qualified - The successful candidate must possess City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2&3City & Guilds - 17th or 18th EditionHV experience would be an advantageHave preferably previous experience working within an industrial environment within the Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering disciplinePossess an IOSH (or equivalent) safety qualification, training will be givenFamiliar with Permit to Work systemsKnowledge and experience of associated repair methods of mechanical plantExperience in working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (Planon)Demonstrate a good understand of health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to the industrial environmentWill be expected to assist other disciplines as requiredMust be qualified in a mechanical tradeAn experienced building maintenance operativeExperience working in a commercial environmentHold a UK drivers' licenceIdeally live close to KingstonPlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of; Building Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Installation Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Service Engineer, Qualified Electrician, Installation Technician, Repairs Engineer may also be considered for this role.
