Our team is primarily focused on upstream procurement, sustainability, business partnering, market analysis, risk management, demand management, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management.

The Drug Product portfolio is an important category at the company as, to complement our manufacturing capabilities, we rely on several External Partners to supply medicines to our patients. The portfolio is well diversified and includes oral to solid dosages, syrups, aseptic filling and finishing, drug product intermediates, inhalation, etc. The increased complexity and its growing significance are important challenges ahead and this not only for development and launch of new products but also for the lifecycle management of commercial medicines.  

To this extent we are looking to fill the position of Procurement Lead, Drug Product to be based in Brussels, Belgium (preferred) or at one of our main sites in Europe: Bulle, Switzerland or Slough, UK.

You will contribute by:

Leading a +€300 million portfolio of spend which will be growing substantially in the next coming years in the areas of pharma, biologics and gene therapy

Building solid relationships with the different technical value streams and the extended stakeholder eco-system to fully understand the business and the technical requirements

Providing a holistic approach for Drug Product across the value streams and develop sound commercial strategies which are well articulated and aligned across the organization.

Aligning and providing strategic guidance to Sourcing Managers in the development and execution of projects

Liaising with other colleagues within Procurement such as the centers of expertise for procurement excellence (analytics, sustainability, risk management, systems and digitalization, etc.)

Providing the business with the market trends, the competitive landscape and the dynamics around the supply markets enabling the development of sound procurement strategies and execution plans

Coaching stakeholders and peers to gain important business insights, market conditions, supply and compliance risk and the competitive landscape with the aim to leverage global markets and differentiated sourcing strategies

Managing and nurture external partner's relationships

Establishing business agreements and their lifecycle management

For this position we will be looking for someone with the following expertise:

Relevant technical and/or academic background for the portfolio under assignment. You may not have all, and still we would like to hear from you

Minimum 8 years of experience in similar strategic Procurement or Sales roles with a background in the pharmaceutical industry

A good knowledge of the Drug Product CDMO market and the main differentiation factors

Mindset and behaviours aligned to our values where compliance, reputation and high ethical standards are core

Great communication skills - ability to think creatively, engage in effective communication and promote change with internal stakeholders and suppliers

Fluent in English
