If so, we have a vacancy just for you! Job description This is a brand new role, providing the exciting opportunity to lead and set direction as we reshape our current telecoms model, moving to a new and modern service and new ways of working.

As the Technical Team Lead - Telecoms, you will be responsible for delivering technical infrastructure focused service to the Agency, its partners and the citizen within service levels, taking responsibility for financial targets, headcount constraints and needs of end users. You will contribute to the leadership of the group from a technology and/or people management perspective, supporting implementation of change and embedding revised, efficient and fit for purpose processes. You will set strategic direction, encouraging new ways of working and ensure operational support arrangements that reflect the changing service landscape are implemented. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to;

Responsible for managing one or more Infrastructure teams, or providing technical leadership within a team, their outcomes (technical & organisational), delivering leadership, communication and management to all personnel.
Supports organisational change, embracing new ways of working to deliver the right support or change functions for existing and digitally transformed IT services at the right cost.
Contributing as a Manager within the capability to strategic directives, continuous improvement within the organisation and other touch points within the Agency (e.g. Programme community).
Operates a programme of technology change to maintain and improve service delivery and change initiatives, including managing internal processes/tooling, programme alignment, and promoting continuous improvement.
Utilises appropriate and effective problem solving skills when tackling complex technical/service issues, or challenges to the role (across People, Processes, Products, 3rd Parties/Suppliers, etc).

About You

To thrive in this role, the post holder will have proven experience providing support to and managing stakeholders, has excellent leadership skills and demonstrate an inquisitive mind, keen to tackle initiatives, improve service delivery and encourage continuous improvement.

This role will be varied and challenging with no two days going to be the same. As the leader of your team you will represent yourself and your colleagues across the wider DVLA function, engaging with third party solution providers, to provide guidance, support and leadership. You will need to utilise your effective decision making and convey clear direction across a range of areas such as people, process, maintenance, service delivery and incident management.
