Do you have substantial CRM system experience gained in a supporter related environment where you used large data sets, plus a real desire to make a move into a management role at one of the UK's leading charities? Then join Shelter as a Supporter CRM Manager and you could soon be playing a key role within our Data Management & Insight team.

About Shelter

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent.

We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.

About the team

Part of a thriving Income Generation Directorate, our Planning & Improvement department is the glue that binds together all income generation campaigns, appeals, activities and products. The team consists of three different areas: Planning & Project Management, Digital Fundraising and Data Management & Insight (DMI), which is where this particular role is based. The custodians of supporter data for its full life cycle, DMI deliver high quality supporter data and database management, administrative services and business insight to the department, as well as other teams across Shelter. This is your opportunity to join us and really make your mark.

About the role

We've just started using Dynamics 365, so now's a great time to bring your CRM expertise to the table. Indeed, you'll be integral to the future successful use of supporter data across the organisation using this new platform. Your main focus will be on the operational management of our CRM system and making sure that data ingested from a myriad of external sources sits correctly, is error free and can be easily used by staff. A vital role in embedding best practice ways of working around data management, your talents will enable us to achieve our ambitious goal of raising £90m a year by 2023. And, along the way, you'll get all the coaching and mentoring you need from the Head of DMI, enabling you to further develop your already enviable skills and experience.

We are happy to talk about flexible working, personal growth, and to promote a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based only on your merit.

About you

An expert in customer relational databases and their effective management to achieve business objectives, you have proven experience of structuring a database to meet the needs of client teams. You're also a dab hand at using ETL tools and used to spotting data anomalies and used to tracking back to the source of the error. Cool, calm, logical and able to prioritise your own time, as well as that of a team, maintaining high standards of data quality comes naturally to you as does developing a schedule of importing. What's more, you're adept at managing and processing large numbers of transactions from a variety of data sources and know how to onboard new data sources with UAT & Data Quality Sign Off. Add in an exceptional level of detail, an analytical, solutions orientated  approach, a good understanding of relevant marketing and compliance legislation and a flair for communicating technical information to a non-technical audience, and it's clear to see you're just the person for the job.

Benefits

We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
