Start Date: Immediately following assessment center
Cyber Security Engineers/ Analysts help the NHS by protecting our computer and networking systems from potential hackers and cyber-attacks. They safeguard sensitive data of a business from hackers and cyber-criminals who often create new ways to infiltrate sensitive databases. Candidates for trainee Cyber Security Engineer are expected to have a meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.
You will develop into the role, but duties will include planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of data, systems, and networks. The role includes troubleshooting security and network problems and responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
NHSBT create solutions to help save and improve lives! Cyber Security team supports all aspects of our business in delivering their objectives including organ & tissue donation and blood donation. This particular role would be within the Cyber Security Operations team which focuses on protecting NHSBT from cyber risks and threats so that it can safely and securely deliver its services to patients, clinicians, and citizens.
The Candidate
The successful candidate must demonstrate interest and/or practical experience in Cyber Security. Evidence of working in a Cyber Operational environment (e.g. during internship) would be highly advantageous.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
Skills and Experience
Understanding of Open Source Intelligence Tooling, Techniques and Processes
Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework
Understanding of SIEM (preferably SPLUNK) and Threat Intelligence technologies and platforms
Good written and verbal communications skills
A self-starter with good team working skills
