Job Description This role is situated within the NPS Justice team, who are responsible for producing products and services for the probation, prison and policing sectors. We are currently undertaking a number of new developments to support the ever-changing justice landscape - this includes the creation of exciting new products for these markets and the migration of our existing products onto our new development platform. The Successful candidate will be working within an agile scrum team consisting of: Back-end & Front-end Specialists Scrum Master Product Owner (s) Business Analysts Devops Engineers QA/Testers Technical Architects Non-technical Responsibilities To be prepared to work in a self-organising team environment To contribute to design as well as development To work closely with BAs & Product Owner to ensure customer requirements are understood, designed and delivered appropriately To work closely with your co-developers to ensure product features are delivered accurately and on time To attend and actively engage with all the relevant Scrum Events in each 2 week sprint-cycle  Carry out any other duties not identified in the job description, which from time to time, may be requested by the Line Manager  Meet with Line Manager on monthly basis to review progress - help to identify areas for development Technical Responsibilities: Develop and test Product Features as specified in the i2N Product Backlog Ensure that code conforms to i2N Programming Standards Ensure that code conforms to the project's Application Architecture Ensure that code reuses existing code or modules where possible Assisting in the management of software incidents through to conclusion Assisting on documenting appropriate sections of the Request for Change Notice (RFC) Develop unit tests Update Jira or equivalent technology as requested by the Scrum Master Undertake Code reviews of other developers' work and vice versa Support - identification / testing of bugs Ensure the appropriate documentation of your work, where appropriate Conform with i2N Policies and Procedures for software development, security etc. Qualifications Non-technical Experience of working in a fast-paced agile environment (Essential) Security Cleared (Desired) Experience of working remotely & making use of collaboration tools such as Hangouts, MS Teams etc (Desired) Technical Essential & demonstrable skills in the following: Proficiency in Java programming
Working with Spring DAO / Hibernate, Spring Core, Spring MVC 
Working with Eclipse or IntelliJ Development environment
Working with Object-oriented programming e.g. Classes, inheritance
Programming with XML 
Working with Relational Database design - with SQL and SQL Server tools (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Working with ActiveMQ messaging or similar
Working with Tomcat , NGINX Basics e.g. deploying Java Servlet to Tomcat
Working with Deployment tools - e.g. Jenkins Desirable Experience in working with Smart Google Web Tools 
Experience in working with the Vaadin framework (not essential) Working with Docker Working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Additional Information This role will be home-based but there will be a requirement to attend meetings either in Hemel Hemstead, London or Ipswich at least twice per month.
