Job title: Linux Support Engineer Location: London Job type: 6 month Contract Day rate: £350 - £450 (Inside IR35) Industry: Production A well renown client within the production industry is looking for a high motivated Linux engineer to join their established systems delivery team. They are looking to speak with industry experts that can continue the smooth operation of their business as well as handle all relevant IT related projects.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible deploying and automating all Linux based servers/applications that are used to provide content to the customers subscribersDealing with server hardware from various sources using bootstrap technologies E.g. IPMI/iLO/DRAC, pxe, RHEL/Centos KickstartYou will be tasked with operating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to deploy the team’s applications from Ansible to baremetal/hypervisorUpgrading of the production Linux fleets via Ansible/Salt/Chef/secrets management using ansible and hashicorp vaults Effective monitoring and logging of all servers via ELK or Clickhouse Key Skills Strong understanding of Sysadmin is a necessity, with working knowledge of RHEL/Centos distros preferrable.Extensive experience with virtualisation technologies E.g Docker, LVM, VMware and Openstack.Network experience using baremetal/VM systems, ensuring efficient performance of all applications.Experience of deploying and operating applications such as Apache Traffic Server, Envoy, Varnish, nginx,Comprehensive understanding of the deployment, operation and troubleshooting of TCP/IP and TLS.Strong interpersonal skills to be able to present your ideas and solutions to engineers and managers within the company.
