Windows Engineer London, City to £70k+

Windows Engineer (Infrastructure Microsoft). Are you a technologist Windows Engineer?

As a Windows Engineer you will ensure that the firms internal users (including traders, quants and senior management) have everything they need to be successful; there's a broad scope of responsibilities encompassing Windows desktop and server environments, virtualisation, communication and collaboration systems, telephony and more. You will manage the installation and configuration of desktop computing solutions including thin clients and virtual desktops; manage improvements through automation and standardisation; coordinate and execute trader desk moves, set up desks for new staff and assume responsibility of incidents and requests using JIRA request systems.

Driven by technology the company is able to offer a remote interview / onboarding process during the current social distancing measures; in time you'll join colleagues in the City based offices for the majority of the week.

Requirements:

You have experience of supporting Windows desktops and servers in a fast paced financial services environment

You have a strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server OS (Windows 10 Windows Server 2012R / 2016 / 2019

You have a good understanding of Directory concepts and other common Windows infrastructure topics such as file permissions, DFS, DNS, DHCP)

You're familiar with configuration and maintenance of desktop and server hardware and VMware vSphere virtualization

You have experience with telephony systems such as Speakerbus or similar products

You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams

You have Python and / or PowerShell scripting skills to automate routine administrative tasks

You're collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication skills
