System Design Engineer - Electrical

Rochester

Contract - 6 Months

£35 per hour 37.5 hours a week

Do you have experience as an electrical design engineer, designing control systems in the Power Industry?

This company specialise in the design, manufacturing and selling specialist electrical and controls based systems into a wide range of markets and are the UK distributor for a number of well-known brands. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of growth, they are seeking the skills and knowledge of an Systems Design Engineer to complement their highly professional team.

In this role the successful candidate will be tasked with the design of systems, and more detailed electrical designs. They will also be required to carry out site visits, Project Manage and lead working on quotations and proposals. An excellent clients and end user interface would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have experience as an electrical design engineer and have experience designing systems. They will also have an appetite to have a hands on approach when necessary, supporting panel builders and test engineers to troubleshoot systems both in their premises, and in the field if required.

The role:

* Project management, including attending meetings, and carrying out site visits

* Commissioning systems in the UK, and sometimes internationally

* Systems design, and more detailed electrical designs, mainly for the marine industry

* Dealing with suppliers, clients, and end users

The person:

*AutoCAD skilled (experience with other electrical packages would be advantageous)

* IEC 61439 and BS 7671 proficient

*A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar (HND, HNC etc.)

* Holds marine classification standards (RINA or Lloyds registered)
