Senior Java Developer (SpringBoot microservices Kubernetes) One of the biggest digital property websites in the UK is seeking an accomplished Senior Java Developer to join their Product Development Scrum team and help support the evolution of their main website, in conjunction with a variety of exciting Greenfield development projects.

With over 6.5 billion page views a month and a vast amount of critical data, this is an invaluable opportunity to deliver quality solutions that satisfy millions of end users on one of the most popular, highly visited digital property websites in the UK.

In this Senior Java Developer role you'll play a key role in an autonomous, cross-functional team in an Agile environment, where collaboration and knowledge sharing is the norm. You'll help to define solutions of business and technical problems with a focus on maintainability, scalability and performance standards, using a range of modern tools and technologies including Java (legacy is in Java 8, moving to Java 11 and 15), SpringBoot, microservices, Kafka, Gradle and more. They are currently transitioning from Docker to Kubernetes, and are always looking for new ways to optimise, advance and improve their technology and processes.

As a senior team member you'll act as a technical pivot, contributing to tech decisions, collaborating with internal contacts and supporting fellow developers. There is a healthy pipeline of Greenfield development, including two brand new products that are built on industry-leading knowledge and expertise, so this Senior Java Developer role is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact from the bottom line.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter who excels when working collaboratively, committed to writing high-quality code and passionate about improving and optimising technical processes.

Requirements:

You have strong commercial experience of writing applications in Java (Java 8, 11, 15) plus SpringBoot

You have commercial experience of working on large scale live applications/ websites

You have microservices experience

You're familiar with Docker and Kubernetes

You're an advocate of Agile methodologies including SCRUM and TDD

You're a proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
