Our client are a fast growing and disruptive digital healthcare company combining technology and patient data to help people to get better care. They are currently looking for a Senior Epidemiologist to join the Data Science team within a Discovery Sciences function and help the business deliver their mission to accelerate medical research and improve patient care. The Senior Epidemiologist will use skills in data wrangling, preparation and analysis, along with insights on epidemiology studies to deliver on discovering robust clinical insight that will ultimately make a difference to the lives of patients across a range of therapeutic areas.Role: Implementing and updating the pipeline for data influxExtensive data cleaning and preparation for downstream analysesModelling data entities useful for answering research questionsDesigning, carrying out, and interpreting epidemiological studies to address specific clinical questionsCollaborating with a wide spectrum of professionals in the team: clinicians, data scientists, IT specialists, and Machine LearningRequirements: Ability to work independently and effectively in a team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines on concurrent projectsIdeally MSc in Epidemiology, Healthcare Informatics, or in any field related to Health Data Science - other levels considered too e.g. PHD etcConducting epidemiological studies (e.g. Prospective/retrospective cohort, case-control studies)Working with Electronic Patient RecordsWorking with Registry Data (e.g. Death, Cancer)Experience of working with Data from publicly available datasets (e.g. UK Biobank)Data cleaning and wranglingApplication of various statistical techniques to analyse health data (e.g. survival analyses) Use of R and a familiarity with SQLOn offer:Excellent salary + benefits + company share options and a host of flexible benefits - along with fully remote working option.
