Systems EngineersWould you like to play a critical part in providing submarine combat system capability to the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a number of opportunities for Systems Engineers at varying levels. These roles can be based at any of the following site locations, depending on your individual circumstances: Frimley, Weymouth, Filton or Portsmouth - Broad Oak.As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team of around ten Engineers as part of our Common Infrastructure Subsystem Design Team, which forms part of the wider Combat System Group. We are currently expanding our teams to meet the demands of developing infrastructure solutions for the next generation Royal Navy submarines.As a System Engineer within the Common Infrastructure Subsystem Design Team you will be working across the full engineering lifecycle from requirement gathering to qualification. You will be responsible for eliciting requirements from a range of stakeholders and then deriving those requirements to the appropriate level for subsystem specification. You will participate in activities supporting the ongoing maturity of the design of the combat system, primarily system and sub-system verification testing.This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on complex engineering programmes of national importance within a supportive team who drive best engineering excellence and best practice. Future career progression opportunities could include the chance to lead packages of work or develop skills in engineering people management and leadership. Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineer will involve: Requirement analysis and derivation at common infrastructure sub-system levelDefining and capturing qualification statements/cases against requirementsCreation of subsystem design materialCreation of interface control documents Creation and maintenance of design checklists to indicate design safety and maturitySupporting the ongoing process of change by raising change documents and providing impact assessments Your skills and qualifications as a Systems Engineer:Essential: Systems engineering experience gained from one or more areas of the systems engineering lifecycle/ V-model, such as: systems integration, system verification testing, software testing, system design etc. Desirable: Requirements management experience utilising software packages such as DOORs or CradleTechnical infrastructure knowledgeKnowledge of virtualisation Familiar with IT networks What we're looking for in you:You will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
