Here at Babcock International, we're looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join a highly motivated, hugely capable and expanding team - currently consisting of 6 QS professionals. Joining as a QS, you will be working on highly desirable contracts, will be subject to exceptional career development opportunities and will be accountable for the commercial administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with the contract terms and conditions, Company and Group policies, procedures and delegated authorities. Through appropriate contract administration, risk management and negotiation, you will manage multiple concurrent contracts effectively to deliver or improve the agreed profitability and cash projections, informing line management and seeking guidance as and when required. You will also develop and maintain client, supply chain and business function relationships, and ensure the core values of the Company are upheld at all times. Further responsibilities include:
* Providing information to measure the financial performance of projects against targets
* Producing relevant information for preparation of subcontract enquiries and subsequent awards to agreed timescales
* Assisting in the preparation of estimates for bids
* Preparing and submit change control requests
* Producing and submitting applications for payment and track their certification and payment in-line with contractual terms and conditions
* Producing and inputting all information relevant to the CVR What do I need to do the role? You will ideally hold a BSc (hons) in Quantity Surveyor or equivalent qualification, and will be working towards membership of RICS. You will have proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within the Rail industry or with a contracts business, and of working alongside and managing sub-contractors. You will also possess awareness of cost control measures, be experienced in procurement strategies and processes, and of working with and to various contract types and commercial terms, having delivered on individual contracts with a value up to £5m. NEC contract experience would be a distinct advantage. What else do I need to know? This role is based in Belfast, there will be a requirement to travel around Northern Ireland very occasionally.
