As Project Manager, you will lead a project team in the successful delivery of complex enterprise solutions to our public sector clients. This will involve:
Project managing the software development and implementation of projects to existing and new customers.
Providing input into and feedback on departmental planning and resourcing.
Supporting Analyst resources in the understanding of Customer Business needs.
Working closely with clients, managing their expectations.
This role is based in Belfast and while remote working will likely continue for the foreseeable future, the successful applicant will be expected to move to/live in commutable distance of Belfast.
Core Duties / Responsibilities
Production of Project Plans, Project Control Documents, Project Reports
Management of overall project deliverables and each project Stage deliverables
Identification and management of project Risks and Issues
Assist with the analysis and documentation of customer requirements
Organise and assist with customer workshops and customer project meetings
Manage internal Project Board meetings
Identify project resource requirements both personnel and equipment, and liaise with departmental managers regarding project resource allocation
Communicate up and down the team structure
Provide input into departmental financial reporting and projections
Resolve client issues working at both process and technical level suggesting relevant approaches
Assist pre-sales activities as required, including provision of project plans, risk registers and costings
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
3+ yrs experience in project management within a software development environment, with a track record in successful delivery of such projects within customer and commercial expectations
Experience of management of work items in DevOps or JIRA
Full understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle
Experience in both formal (PRINCE2) and agile project delivery methodologies. PRINCE2 Practitioner certification preferred.
Experience in Risk analysis and management
Sound communication skills including ability to deliver presentations using structure & style appropriate to the audience
Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics
Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure taking a balanced view of client demands
Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management, while recognising and flagging issues outside area of own expertise
