About the job

The Department for International Trade, is at the heart of the UK's relationship with the global economy. Our role is to promote and enable UK trade globally by helping businesses to take advantage of the appetite for British goods and services around the world, attracting foreign companies and investment to our shores, and helping international companies work with UK suppliers.

Over the next three years, DIT aims to deliver a step change in UK trade and investment. Digital services, data and technology are central to the department's ability to meet its objectives.

About the Project Delivery and Change Directorate

The Project Delivery and Change is a new directorate established with the exciting remit to drive DIT's change capability through processes, systems, procedures, culture and working practices that enable staff to optimise new initiatives and deliver through ambiguity and uncertainty effectively. Our aim is to support the delivery of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) objectives of doing the basics well, supporting delivery and building for the future. This includes our office move to Old Admiralty Building.

About the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team

We are a team of about 200 people across a whole range of DDaT specialisms, working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams.

We build and operate innovative tools and services such as great.gov.uk that provide world leading support to businesses in the UK and overseas. Our public-facing services are visited millions of times each year and the tools we develop for our staff, across the globe, are a key part of their daily working lives.

We believe in creativity, curiosity, diversity of thought, entrepreneurship, delivery focus and collaboration. We embody the DIT values to be expert, enterprising, engaged and inclusive. These values have helped us become a high performing team that continuously delivers high quality outputs.

Location

Post Covid-19 restrictions we would expect these roles to be working in a DIT hub location 2/3 days per week with the rest of the time working remotely. Our principal hub is currently London but we are expecting to grow our footprint in the North of England over the next 12 months and can accommodate these home locations. Your home base can be discussed further at interview.

Job description

DDaT Business Change Manager (HEO)

The Business Change Manager will work on the Digital Workplace Programme. Its scope is to provide the internal digital tools required to enable DIT staff to have access to the information they need to do their job at all times regardless of location. Through training and guidance, it aims to empower all staff to use the available tools to support their ways of working to support the Smarter Working agenda. It also includes the preparation to support the move to Old Admiralty Building from a technology standpoint and the delivery of the International Tech Migration Strategy. Along with the planning and possible implementation of the move for the International Trade Advisor community and the Trade Remedies Investigations Directorate to the Cirrus platform.

Places for Growth (PfG) Change Support Officer (HEO)

The Places for Growth (PfG) Change Support Officer will form part of PfG team within the Change Directorate. PfG is part of the Government's high profile ‘levelling up' agenda and will enable departments to connect with and reflect the communities we serve, as we move towards a more geographically dispersed and better-connected Civil Service. The project is contributing toward this agenda through the relocation of civil service roles from London and is driving the necessary planning and preparation within Government departments and public bodies to relocate into the regions and nations of the United Kingdom.

This Change Support Officer role will support the delivery of the department's PfG contributions. PfG represents a significant shift for DIT's organisational structure, and the Support Officer will ensure we develop and deploy the processes, tools and techniques needed to effectively manage and implement this change.
