Linux Engineer London to £80k

Linux Engineer. Do you have expertise with Linux? You could be gaining valuable knowledge of low latency trading systems at a global Investment Management company, continually learning and progressing your career.

As a Linux Engineer you will join a small team to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions, automating wherever possible with a focus on project based work for co-location servers for trading exchanges. You'll work with a range of technologies and have the opportunity to take a lead on projects, working on complex systems in a highly technical low latency environment; you don't need to have LLP experience as you can learn this on the job.

As a Linux Engineer you will deliver secure systems on Linux (RHEL, CentOS and OEL) encompassing systems engineering and performance, configuration management and day to day operations. You'll seek to automate wherever possible to improve efficiency and support Infrastructure as a Service, promote DevOps best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, branching strategy and environment decoupling and manage and maintain a multi-cloud environment (AWS, GCP).

You'll be based in modern, open plan offices with all the latest kit and 360 views of the City; the company is able to offer a remote interview / onboarding process and work from during the current social distancing measures (some flexibility going forward but mainly office based).

Requirements:

Indepth knowledge of Linux OS in an enterprise scale environment

Strong experience of using Chef

Python or Ruby scripting / coding ability

Understanding of HP hardware

Strong analysis and problem solving skills

Collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills - the aptitude and desire to learn quickly in a highly technical environment
