Purpose of Role:

This role is for a dedicated and enthusiastic Technical Windows Server Specialist with experience supporting, maintaining, and implementing new systems. In this exciting and varied role, you will be expected to act as a technical authority on projects, providing expertise, to both team members and Managed Service Providers as well as being adaptable with a willingness to learn new skills.

Responsible for designing solutions around the Windows operating systems, working with the latest technologies the role will interface with Managed Service Providers and stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions. This role will involve both project-related and 3^rd line operational support.

We are looking for someone who is driven, meticulous, and willing to spearhead the on-premises server innovation and work in parallel with our cloud initiative strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools

Provide third-level support for the operation, including working closely with both Managed Service Providers and the Vendors to troubleshoot critical and complex production issues

Work with System Architects and Managed Service Providers to support the implementation of major configuration changes and upgrades

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Technical Skills:

Deep Understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems from Windows Server 2012 R2 onwards.

Strong understanding and working knowledge of Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, CA etc), Office 365, group policies, domain controllers

Qualifications and Previous Experience:

Minimum of five years in an IT support/technician role

Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation

Proven project management skills to work on large, complicated projects

Windows Desktop and Windows Server Operating systems

Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop

Active Directory

Domain Roles (DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authority)

VMware

SQL installation and configuration

Anti-Virus, patching and security management

Backup Technologies

Strong Automation skills

Working Knowledge of Microsoft Azure

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Understanding of DevOps methodology.

Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. Microsoft Certified Professional)
