Software Development Engineer (Embedded C TestRail JIRA) Are you an accomplished Software Developer seeking to level up your career in a completely unique challenge?

The company produces cutting-edge inspection technology that helps to identify contaminants and product defects within the food, packaging and pharmaceutical industries, principally using metal detectors, checkweighers and x-ray systems to improve quality and safety.

They are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to enhance the capabilities of their dedicated Metal Detector team and take ownership of designing, developing, testing and implementing real-time software (in Embedded C) for a variety of target devices.

You'll work across the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies, bench tests, requirements gathering, design through to release and support. You'll play an integral role in ensuring the company's inspection products are robust, easy to use, cost-effective and optimising the capacity of the system.

You'll also work with JIRA and TestRail to source control software to self-manage development tasks, and will work in a highly collaborative wider team, championing best practice and a culture of continuous technical improvement.

Requirements:

You're degree educated (2.1 or above) in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or related subject (or have equivalent experience)

You're an expert in Embedded C and have experience of developing code for real-time applications/ operating systems

You have strong technical proficiency in software tools and technology including JIRA, TestRail and source control software

You have good mental agility and can quickly pick up new tools and techniques

You're a proactive team player with excellent communication skills
