IT & Network Engineer

Location: Remote and Cheshire East (Crewe)

Type: Permanent/ Full Time/ Monday to Friday

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with a growing IT infrastructure across multiple physical locations, delivering support to our internal customers to ensure that our infrastructure is both stable and efficient to eliminate any impediments they may face. A specialisation in networking will allow our infrastructure to grow beyond its current configuration, linking both our physical and cloud locations to be a seamless platform for our customers.

The successful candidate will be working with a cross-functional team of IT Technicians and Engineers to support all areas of IT with a specialisation in networking.

What should you expect to be doing?

* Work with the IT and Development teams to determine current networking configurations.

* Enhance and support any current infrastructure, troubleshooting any errors and inefficiencies.

* Ensure network and any data exchange are managed in a secure manner.

* Documenting solutions and changes.

* Maintain and monitor firewalls, and other methods of network traffic.

* Coach and share knowledge with other team members.

* Support the IT team with other areas of IT where possible which includes, but is not limited to: Desktops and peripherals, Servers, Communications, Security.

* Maintain, upgrade and support our telephony platform.

Skills:

Required:

* 3+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer or IT Engineer

* 3+ years of networking experience with Cloud Solutions (Azure (preferred), AWS)

* 3+ years of experience working with firewalls and managed switches (Fortinet preferred)

* Experience with VOIP telephony and PCI platforms

* Experience in other areas of IT outside of networking

* Have a keen eye and attention to detail

* Be an advocate of great user experience

Desirable:

* General knowledge of Azure platform outside of networking

* Experience working across multiple sites

* Ownership of systems and processes

* Familiarity with command level consoles (Powershell, CMD, Bash)
