IT Manager / Pre-Press Manager who has a solid Desktop / Network Support, Technical Infrastructure background with a good understanding of database systems and office applications such as Microsoft Office 365 is required for a well-established, family-run business based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

Any previous experience of working in the publishing or printing industry would be advantageous.

This is a ‘hands on' IT role in addition to managing a small team of Pre-Press Operatives.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for the IT Manager / Pre-Press Manager who has a solid Desktop / Network Support, Technical Infrastructure background with a good understanding of database systems and office applications such as Microsoft Office 365.

This is a pivotal role within the company and as the IT Manager / Pre-Press Manager your position will entail dealing with networking, desktop and server issues as well as recommending and implementing a companywide IT strategy.

Due to the rapidly changing digital publishing arena, ongoing attention will need to be given in order to ensure that the business maintains its place as the leading provider of local information in whatever form that may take.

As the IT Manager / Pre-Press Manager, you will also be responsible for a small team of pre-press operatives and will be accountable for ensuring all publishing deadlines are achieved and, when necessary, may need to assist the team during busy periods.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the IT Manager / Pre-Press Manager, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

Previous experience in an IT or Pre Press managerial or supervisory role

Knowledge of industry standard publishing software such as Adobe Creative Suite is essential

Good understanding of database systems

Good knowledge supporting Microsoft Office 365 and associated applications

Experience of networking and server issues

Knowledge of the Miles 33 operating system or administering an internal phone system would be advantageous but not essential

Good communication skills at all levels

Creative problem-solving skills to meet the day to day challenges of the role

Willingness to occasionally work unsociable hours in order to perform tasks that cannot be completed during normal working hours
