Java Developer Remote UK / WFH to £75k

Java Developer / Software Engineer (Remote WFH). Opportunity for a Computer Science technologist to join a scale-up FinTech; take ownership and use the latest technology whilst collaborating with a small team of engineers and finance entrepreneurs.

As a Java Developer you will help build the calculation engine and backend services to provide functionality on the core platform such as integrating derivatives valuation models, implementing margin methodologies and building analytics to help clients understand and optimise their costs.

You'll work across the full development lifecycle and see the results of your work quickly. There's a modern technology stack with IaC including AWS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, KMS and Terraform on the infrastructure side with Java 8, Maven and Kotlin on the backend and TypeScript, Angular 5 on the front end; you're focus will be on backend core Java development however you will gain exposure to other areas of the stack, particularly AWS.

The company is able to provide a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home fully remotely until end of Q1 2021 with the caveat that you'll be in the London office once a month going forwards.

Requirements:

• Commercial Java development experience
• Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as Data Structures, Algorithms, Concurrency and Object Orientated Programming
• Advanced analysis and problem solving capabilities
• Ideally you will have some experience of working in a financial services environment, familiarity with Trade Capture, Trade Execution, Pricing and Risk would be ideal
• Degree educated in a STEM discipline, Computer Science preferred
