Job Purpose and primary objectives:

Data Analyst

Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team):

? Take E2E ownership of requirement analysis process for an assigned work items in the Global OTT Data Platform roadmap from initiation, engagement with stakeholders, ensuring implementation are in-line with scope, business value and platform architecture.

? Work alongside other Analysts in an agile development team

? Facilitate workshops with Architects, Product Owners, Product Managers and Engineers to ensure common understanding of the business requirement.

? Break down requirements into user stories in accordance with the agreed solution design, product scope and technical details, present these to development teams during agile ceremonies.

? Write technical & data specification for complex ETL processes for high volume streaming data platform

? Work closely with architecture group to ensure fit-for-purpose models, ensuring data security and quality on an ongoing basis

? Provide technical inputs to various development teams building ETL pipelines and complex transformations without compromising scalability and performance of big data system

? Lead data analysis, profiling and modelling exercise for different data sources.

? Be the main point of contact for understanding data from various channels within the community

? Be highly available for ad-hoc questions/queries and support development teams during development cycle

? Play an active part in the Sky Technology communities

? Facilitate the team’s delivery of new features whilst maintaining a culture of continuous improvement

? Generate and share new ideas within the team and department

? Provide constructive and useful feedback to peers

? Foster an environment of operational responsibility within the team by ensuring applications are monitored and always up and running

? Be an active contributor to internal and/or external open source projects

Key Skills/Knowledge:

? Experience of working with more than one data modelling patterns

? Experience of working with at-least one relational database and one non-relational database system

? Experience of working with some programming language preferably Java

? Strong knowledge and understanding of relational data models, star schemas, data warehouses and big data models

? Experience of working on data migration projects

? Experience of working on any one Big Data technology stack in the past

? Experience with Continuous Delivery

? Strong ability to document complex rules, logic & transformations

? Delivery experience within an agile environment using Scrum/Kanban methodologies

? Some working experience of any established cloud technology (desirable)

? Good understanding of data security, protection and policies

? Understanding of TDD and BDD approaches

? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience

Experience required:
