Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)Lakeside, Portsmouth (Initially Remote due to COVID-19)Duration: 4 months (until 31/03/2021)Rate: £450 per day LTD or £339.51 per day PAYE Subject to SC clearance (candidates will ideally hold clearance) Job Purpose: To work within the DBA team to deliver an Oracle, Apex & IFS Upgrade. Installation of Oracle 19c, Apex 20.1Creation and refresh of Development and UAT Databases.To work with the 3rd Party to upgrade the IFS Application (Apps 10)To work with the upgrade project team and project manager to deliver the project requirements in line with the project plan.To support technical architects in the design process.To work closely with the Network & Server Infrastructure teams to ensure all access and inter system connectivity requirements are satisfied while complying with company security requirements. This role will be focused on the Oracle environment however, MS SQL experience is desirable. Major Tasks and Activities: The role demands a Database Administrator (DBA with a minimum of 5 years' experience who will be accountable for: Install Oracle Software and build Databases as required in live with Design documents and standards.Maintain Database environments to agreed standardsEnsure all Database platforms operate within agreed performance criteriaMaintain the Operational and Technical Integrity of all Live Database EnvironmentsSupport Technical architects in design processMaintain operational and technical documentation to an agreed standard

Additional accountabilities: Any other duties as deemed necessary to achieve department goalsProviding On-Call for out of hours support. This is done on a Rota basis within the DBA team. Key Outputs/Deliverables: Incidents and Works Orders to be answered within SLADocumented Procedures that can be followed by other members of the Application Support Team and where appropriate the Service Desk.No avoidable disruption to system availability unless otherwise agreed with the businessGood quality consistent data being available for the specialised area Qualification and Experience:Formal database training and qualifications in Oracle (MS SQL desirable)Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Oracle DBAExperience of Oracle versions 10,11,12 and 19cInstallation, Configuring, PatchingStandalone and RACDataGuardASMExperience Oracle Linux 5 - 7.5 and laterInstallation, Configuring, PatchingExperience of Oracle Apex 10.1Experience of Oracle Cloud Control 13cOracle OVM experience is desirable.Experience of IFS (ERP) Apps 7 to Apps 10 desirableKnowledge of Microsoft SQL 2008 - 2019 desirable.Experience of operational running of multi database infrastructureUnderstanding of IT Management processesSelf-confidence which translates well for customers, partners and colleagues;Fluent written and spoken EnglishAble to make considered judgments / decisions quicklyHighly organized and efficientAmbitious with passion, drive, tenacity and enthusiasmSelf-motivated and a self-starterStrives for continual self-development
