3rd Line Field Engineer

£275 - £400 per day

A 3rd Line Engineer is required by our IT MSP client based in West London and the surrounding areas. The role of 3rd Line works in the Field Engineer team within Technical Services. The role provides customer facing technical consultancy that supports the delivery of managed services to school customers through proactive and strategic activities that both increases delivery efficiency and generates potential new revenues.

The 3rd Line Engineer is field based and is expected to work within a given travel radius and is the technical authority for that geography.

The 3rd Line Engineer will provide roadmap and strategic planning, specify, design and implement customer moves/adds/changes, carry out installation and commissioning projects and provide in life support for existing customer contracts, for example:

* Problem management

* Quality management (service tickets; non-conformance)

* Coaching (training/coaching of junior/contract technical staff)

* ProvidingThe job holder will provide strategic support to school senior leadership teams, helping to ensure that the ICT provided through the managed service is aligned with their Teaching and Learning priorities

Knowledge and Experience

* Experienced in maintaining and supporting of client-server networks at an advanced level including Microsoft Windows Server and associated management tools, VMware, Hyper-V, Apple.

* Highly developed diagnostic and troubleshooting skills incorporating end-to-end investigation and resolution, inclusive of proposing future improvements.

* Excellent understanding of:

? Server software and infrastructure

? Internet protocols

? Networking infrastructure

* Significant technical experience of successfully delivering complex installations (multi-domain, multi-site models).

* Able to mentor / coach other engineers and provide ongoing constructive feedback.

* Is recognised as a product specialist possessing in-depth knowledge within a Field Operations environment E.g. MS Exchange, Apple Mac equipment etc.

* Ability to act as an on-site technical lead engineer:

* Delivering customer requirements

* Managing subordinates

* Liaising & adapting rollout with the customer and project manager to meet key project milestonesIn the first instance please submit your CV
