Information Security Analyst Private Sector£40,000 to £50,000 + Corporate Benefits Reports to Head of Infrastructure and SecurityIntroduction

The IT Security Analyst role will be focused on improving the Information Security posture of my client. They are aiming to improve their capability and maturity in this area in line with the overall business objectives. This particular role will straddle both on premises and cloud environments ensuring they detect, respond, recover, identify and protect the company from Cyber incidents while helping secure the company from risks associated with data loss and/or reputational damage.OverviewReporting into the Head of Infrastructure and Security, the IT Security analyst will help secure the company.ObjectivesTake ownership of the respective security objectives set, which includes overseeing the design, management and continued operation of IT security.Be an IT Security subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to IT colleagues and the wider business.To contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the security team, championing and communicating out a continuously evolving approach to IT security.To constantly innovate and proactively identify new or unused features or security technologies available to deliver maximum benefit to wider firm. ResponsibilitiesSubject matter expert for IT security.Risk and impact assessment for changes within security.Monitor logs and dashboards for security issues Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents.Install security measures and operate software and/or services to protect systems and infrastructure and cloud platforms including firewalls and data encryption technology.Report and document all security breaches and assess the damage they cause.Work with the IT department to share security best practise while performing tests and uncovering security vulnerabilities.Fix detected security vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security maturity standard.Stay current on IT security trends and news.Develop and document company wide best practises for IT security Scope and manage penetration and vulnerability testing.Research security enhancements and make recommendations to senior management.Document security requirements and help with the creation and maintenance of IT security policies and procedures.Support internal and external security audits including the maintenance and accreditation of ISO27001.Support tender and business development activities including supporting of responding to IT security questions and/or questionnaires.Define and record security metrics to measure effectiveness and maturity of IT security within the wider company.Stay up to-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.Skills & ExperienceMicrosoft 365 and Windows 10 security experienceGood grasp of IT Security and IT Operational FrameworksKey RelationshipsWider IT department3rd Party Suppliers: Microsoft, various hardware/software suppliers, various professional services organisationsCandidates may have held the following job titles; Information Security Analyst, IT Security Analyst, Cyber Security Analyst, InfoSec Analyst, CyberSec Analyst, Cyber Assurance Analyst, Security Assurance Analyst, IT Assurance Specialist, IT Security Engineer, Cyber Security Engineer, Cyber Risk Analyst, Junior IT Security, Junior Cyber, Junior Information Security
