Senior Software Engineer (Scala, Java, AWS, Lambda) - Home working availableDue to continued success despite these trying times I have an amazing opportunity for a skilled Software Engineer to join one of the most forward-thinking clients in the UK.You will have the chance to work with like-minded professionals within a business where technology is critical to driving success.The role will be based out of their Birmingham Office, but home working will be allowed Key duties as the Senior Software Engineer will include:* Work closely with senior developers and key stakeholders to help build and operate the AWS-based transportation messaging platform

* Fix issues, make enhancements and solve challenging problems by developing new code and integrating existing internal or 3rd party libraries and API services* Take ownership of, migrate and extend existing and new event-driven processes into modern architectures

* Developing unit and integration tests to ensure our complex systems work as expected and match required behaviour

* Contributing to the clear documentation of new processes and improvements to existing documentation

* Creating automated alerts/alarms/dashboards for our critical operational systems Essential skills needed in the role of Senior Software Engineer:Strong commercial experience with AWS, Lambda, API GatewaySolid experience with Containerisation (docker is preferred)Proven commercial experience working with modern architectural design patterns (particularly Microservices) Desirable skills needed in the role of Senior Software Engineer:Strong background with either Scala or JavaExperience with any NoSQL database If you feel you are a good fit for this role and would be interested to discuss, please apply with an updated CV
