This role is for is a company which manufactures thermal and electrical insulation products to solve industrial challenges. They manufacture these products in their London based plant and are now looking for an electro mechanical maintenance engineer to support the factory manager in their TPM journey.

They are a small manufacturing business with big plans. At this stage of their development you will be the maintenance team and department. This means you will be involved and responsible for all aspects of the job and a competent individual will grow with the business. You will be involved in technical problem solving, statistical record keeping, purchasing and department admin.

Their machines vary in age from up to date CNC milling machines right through to older conveyor ovens. You will be involved in all aspects of keeping them maintained and operational. Your problem solving and fault-finding skills will be put to the test daily.

They are built on innovation and technical know-how. They are always looking for people who want to explore new ways of doing things and experimenting with technology and products to help customers solve problems. One of their most interesting technical projects is designing and implementing modern process control systems to control older machines.

Job Description

- Managing the OOE of the factory according to TPM principles

- Electrical and Mechanical fault finding and repair of multiple different types of machines and control panels. Both analogue and digital

- Manufacture of jigs fixtures and fittings to improve production

- Managing new equipment installations

- Technical support to the management team for projects

- Responsible for the workshop health and safety systems

- Maintaining maintenance system which includes spares list, recording of breakdowns, recording of corrective action and planning for future preventative maintenance

- Purchasing and locating of parts and spares

Required skills:

- This position would suit someone who has completed an engineering apprenticeship / similar has an HND or City and Guilds qualification.

- Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering. You must be qualified and comfortable working at 400V AC through to 5V DC

- Knowledge of motors and Inverters.

- Working knowledge of TPM practices and systems

- Be competent to compile wiring diagrams for existing equipment if it does not exist

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

- Good oral and written skills along with a proven history of working in a team

- Ability to work effectively on your own initiative without supervision

- Proactive, self-motivated and eager to learn

- Fork lift Driving Licence would be desirable
