A truly exciting time at Bristol City Council where we are undergoing a total digital transformation, as a result we are looking for an IT Business Partner to join our team. You will complement our existing team of IT Business Partners (of which there are two) in establishing and maintaining effective relationships between the Digital Transformation Team and its internal customers.

What will I be doing?

You will act as the face of IT and be viewed as a trusted advisor and proponent of IT. You will work with their Customers and understand their Service Strategy and short-term goals to ensure they are aligned to, and consistent with, the overall IT/Digital Transformation strategy.

As a council Bristol delivers a significant number of Services from three Directorates, each IT Business Partner will champion a Directorate whilst collaborating with the team to give a strategic view across the Council. It is important that you become a trusted partner with colleagues at all levels across your directorate.

What do I need to have?

You will have demonstrable experience of relationship management in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment, and have experience of working closely with internal and external customers/suppliers, and project delivery colleagues. You will have experience of successfully coordinating and organising work in order to achieve outcomes in a matrix management environment.

We need someone that has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrating the ability to clearly interpret information in a clear manner to the recipient. You also need the ability to understand and interpret business needs and have the skill and knowledge to define SLAs and KPIs to ensure the required service performance is met.
