What we do matters: making a difference to people's lives now, and for generations to come. We offer a diverse range of flexible working career opportunities: roles that are stimulating and rewarding. And it's important to us that we recruit from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds - bringing different perspectives and experiences to our work.

We now have an opportunity for a Software Developer who will predominantly focus on our Sharepoint 2013 and Office365 applications. You'll design, run and improve software that is tailored to user needs and follow a test-driven approach to write clean, secure code that is open by default and easy for others to use. One of your early priorities will be to support and then convert SharePoint 2010/2013 solutions to Power Apps and Flow applications, so a proven SharePoint development background will be of real benefit.

You'll be comfortable using a range of Microsoft tools such as SharePoint 2013, Power Apps, and Power Automate. And your knowledge of SharePoint 2010/2013 applications should include:

  • knowledge of the SP Object model
  • developing Application Pages
  • developing web parts
  • customising Master Pages, Page Layouts
  • use of SP Designer
  • configuration and workflows

You should have previous experience of working in an agile environment, and your technical know-how should be complemented by good all-round communication skills and an understanding of how to collaborate well with others. Curious by nature, you'll want to understand how your work can influence wider organisational objectives and that your contribution adds value.

Ofgem is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment is decided on the basis of open and fair competition, merit and business need.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days' annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Subsidised gym
  • Interest free season ticket loan
  • Rental deposit scheme
  • Perkbox (staff discount scheme)
  • Employee Wellbeing Programme.
