Job Introduction: Our Digital and Change Applications Delivery department is seeking an experienced Software Delivery Manager to run the day to day operations of an agile, multidisciplinary software delivery team of internal and third-party resource.  Reporting directly to the Head of Applications Delivery, you be initially responsible for delivering a prioritised backlog of work focused upon MPSs' policy management platform.  You will be an experienced delivery professional with extensive proficiency in project management, business analysis or software development & testing with a proven ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.  You will be an advocate for agile delivery, with a passion to learn and coach team members to apply the latest innovations to deliver change efficiently. You will have excellent interpersonal skills as you manage daily tasks across business analysis, development, testing and release planning parallel with working closely with product owners external to the division.  Role Responsibility: Work with product owners, the delivery teams and the wider D&C division to define and deliver prioritised work items to ensure the efficient delivery of change.  Contribute on the delivery of continual service improvement plans for the division through regular retrospectives of the delivery teams' operations  Support the end to end delivery of business projects/initiatives and tasks including managing risks, issues and dependencies across the team and working with other member of Digital and Change and key stakeholders, ensuring delivery of projects to time, cost and quality and that can demonstrate a return on investment.  Contribute to the development and delivery of the departmental strategy   Ensure efficient use of the resources available, empowered to manage activity only escalating issues where required Managing team dynamics and creating a culture of innovation giving people the space and support to think creatively  Proactively identifying waste in any process, enabling a lean operation focused on adding value to the customer  As the technology landscape continually changes, keep abreast of evolving trends, solutions and principles; making recommendations where relevant as to how MPS could utilise these.  The Ideal Candidate: Extensive experience of working in a software delivery environment, with a detailed understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and the roles therein  Extensive experience in at least one of the following disciplines: delivery management, project management, business analysis or software development and testing  Practical experience of delivering change using agile and lean methodologies   Knowledge of CI/CD platforms  Extensive experience of working in relationship-based environments, with a passion for people  Excellent organisational and planning skills  Excellent team player with an ability to support a culture of learning, trust, collaboration and transparency with a drive to build a high performing team  High degree of empathy to support the teams health and happiness  Package Description: 12% company pension contribution (3% from the individual) Annual bonus scheme up to 15% (for permanent roles) Private Medical Insurance Health Care Cash Plan 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays About the Company: Medical Protection Society (MPS) is the world's leading protection organisation for doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals.
